The vast Government Department that I work for has added LiveJournal to the random sites it blocks from view. So I can no longer spend my lunchtime chatching up with people's posts. Rat's cocks.

In more positive news, the herb nursery was open today so now I have: two kinds of Thyme, Purple Sage, Sweet Cicely, Myrtle, Borage and probably at least one other culinary herb that I have forgotten about all ready and waiting to be planted. Yay!

In one of my passing enthusiasms, I have decided to build me a big culinary herb garden so that never again will I find that I've run out of lemon thyme, Sage, Chevril etc. Luckily, we have a great local herb nursery that have been growing a wide range of herbs, organically since 1923. Unluckily, after driving down a frankly scary narrow country lane it transpires they also aren't open on Mondays. Grrr. Those narrow roads scare the crap out of me - there really isn't passing space if you meet a car coming the other way.  Also, damnit, I wanted to play with all my new herbs now!  *throws toys out of pram, sulkily*

Oh well, I'll just have to do it all again tomorrow. Ridiculous that I still get so nervous about driving, but there it is.

ETA: Hmmmn. Also, the space at the bottom of the garden where I had been intending to plant carrots and lettuce is utterly infested with bindweed and ivy (not the poison variety thank goodness in the UK). Both have terrifyingly efficient root systems - Bindweed can burrow to 15 ft or more and will regenerate from the smallest of particles left behind. Thus, at the weekend I am regretfully going in with the Gylophosate, all guns blazing.
