That was interesting. In a way, I hope no-one was watching that as their introduction to the show because it had such a different feel to it from the regular episodes. 
So all in all, an emotionally satisfying rather than hilarious conclusion to a great show. And perhaps, that is for the best.

 Extras is on at 9.00 on HBO this evening. It's a one off special to complete the series and should be wonderful. (Although I always worry that recommending things unseen will ensure they are terrible, and my critical judgement will henceforth go untrusted...)
If you haven't ever watched it, you've missed a treat. Written by and starring Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant, (who did the original British series of The Office) it follows Ricky's character Andy Millman who has risen from playing extras in films and tv to starring in his own sitcom. But at the price of selling out and becoming a critical laughing stock. Stephen Merchant plays his rubbish agent. It also stars the fantastic Ashley Jensen (Christina from Ugly Betty) in what was her breakthrough role. She plays Andy's best friend who is still eking out a living playing small, non speaking roles in TV.

Oh and if you never saw the original version of The Office, that is wonderful too - go see it!
