Heroes Casting Spoilers - part whatever
You know, the one crumb of comfort I took from all the Heroes casting frenzy was at least I knew where I stood and had some closure. I see we seem to be back at square one but with the bonus of there now being an astonishing amount of anger and hurt generated by the whole thing.

How sucky. I really did think it was all over. And whilst I'm pleased to hope that stuff like the death in the script thing isn't true or that much loved cast members were telling unprompted lies, the prospect of this all starting over again makes my heart sink. I truly wish we lived in either a world of utterly accurate spoilers or none at all! Preferably the latter.

Ah well, I'm going back to not knowing what the hell to think about anything except to reflect on how really nuts the whole situation is. Wake me when the war is over!

I couldn't agree with you more. These past two days have been emotionally exhausting and I almost prefer knowing for sure - even if it confirms Adrian's departure - over this mess. I had come close to making my peace with Nathan's death after reading Peter will be at least there with him in the end. But now getting my hopes up from these conflicting reports only to get them dashed again? Not cool.

I will at least take comfort in the fact that this rumor about the actor finding out through the script seems to be either a misunderstanding or completely untrue. And that Adrian got a lot of support over the past two days.

And I'll try to step away from all of this right now (we'll see how that goes) because nothing good comes out of it at the moment. And I'll focus on things that give me pleasure like finally completing my graphics post or going back to that piece of fanart you inspired me to start on.

Forgive this less than eloquent reply but my English skills are still affected by my head cold. ;)

Yes, this is another of the tiny upside - plus, even though I'm sure some of it is people using it for their own malign ends, the sheer depth of feeling on whether or not Adrian is fired or not is rather heartening.

Oooh, fantastic! I'm sorry you've not been well, hon - I hope you feel better soon. Also, your english is, as ever, more articulate than mine!

I hear you, but FWIW, having personally indulged in approximately 72 rounds of denial and alternative explanations? I honestly don't think we're back at square one, and I do think the truth is now rather painfully out there.

I don't think it's coincidence that in all the anger and denials about how he found out, the part about Adrian leaving hasn't itself been denied by anyone. They've said the rumour about how the person in question found out is lies. They've said Adrian is contracted until the end of the year. And hell, I'm even willing to believe them on both counts. But based on the absence of any denial that it is Adrian, based on Arkesh's scifiwire interview, based on some of the very careful phrasing that has gone on, I truly think the bare bones of what came out - that Pasdar is going and Nathan is dying for good - are true.

Re-reading some of the comments from crew, etc. and the dust having settled somewhat, my honest belief is that he really does die in episode 12, but as Jim Martin implied, they'll still be dealing with Nathan in some fashion until the end of the year. One assumes via things like flashbacks, Peter/Angela/Claire grieving (if they even initially know he lost that battle, which they may not), Sylar continuing to use his face as and when convenient, etc.

But yeah. You have Foz having previously blogged about Adrian hanging from a roof for hours, a behind the scenes shot where it looks like he's falling, that scifiwire interview confirming that Nathan and Sylar will battle to the death, confirmation all round that the cast member going is going permanently (and does just appear to be one person) and I think unfortunately it remains pretty obviously Adrian who's going.

Which I hate so much I cannot even say, but I do agree with your previous statement re: closure. At least there is that, I guess.

Ah, I wasn't clear. I meant re the rumour he was leaving mid season! I figured he was off anyway at the end of the season so in that sense, I'm back where I started. In that I'm still not remotely clear about *when* he's going. What is the latest you have heard?

Ah, sorry, I'm not much help there at all. I guess from what's been said and the emphasis on his contract lasting until the end of S4, I'm assuming Adrian likely really will be around until the finale. (Whatever that actually means in practice, given that he's also been around for the first half of the season and yet has only appeared in two episodes.)
